Exploring the Delight of Pan-Grilled Stuffed Cottage-Cheese

Cottage cheese is more than just a diet staple; it is a versatile ingredient that can transform a simple meal into something truly special. Known for its low fat and high protein content, cottage cheese is perfect for anyone aiming for a healthier lifestyle. This dish, pan-grilled stuffed cottage cheese, beautifully showcases its potential. Rich in protein—providing about 27 grams per cup—and calcium, which is essential for strong bones, cottage cheese is an excellent diet choice.


Stuffed dishes bring excitement to cooking by allowing combinations of flavours and textures that can elevate even the simplest ingredients. When you stuff cottage cheese, it enhances its creamy texture and infuses it with new flavours.





Ingredients:


  • 100gm or 1 medium size cube of cottage cheese

  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped spinach (or any leafy green)

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers

  • 1/4 cup boiled corn

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder or chopped fresh garlic

  • 4 tbsp of oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Red chilli flakes (optional)



Instructions:


  1. Take the block of cottage cheese and make a square cut at the center. Scoop out the cottage cheese without removing the base (like a tub pr shell).

  2. In a pan, add 2-3 tsp of oil. Combine the scooped cottage cheese, spinach, boiled corn kernels, tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to ensure vegetables are cooked. The filling is ready. Keep it aside.

  3. Take the Cottage cheese shell and fill the center with the filling.

  4. In the same pan, ass 1 tbsp of oil and grill the cottage cheese shell till all sides turn brown.

  • Chili Flakes or Sauce: A hint of spice can contrast the creaminess beautifully and add excitement. The sauce is optional. I have used Thai Yellow curry to add some flavours. You can have it just like that with some salads.
