In the quest for healthy snacking, traditional foods offer taste and significant nutritional benefits. One such treat is the roasted channa, almond, makhana jaggery laddoo. This delightful sweet contains protein, potassium, zinc, and calcium. This guide explores its nutritional profile, and health advantages, and offers practical tips for including this healthy option in your daily diet.
Roasted channa, or roasted chickpeas, stand out as an excellent source of plant-based protein and dietary fibre. Just one serving of roasted channa provides about 7 grams of protein and 6 grams of fibre, supporting muscle building and digestive health.
Almonds pack a nutritional punch, loaded with healthy fats, fibre, and protein. A 100 g of almonds contains 21 grams of protein and 12 grams of fibre. They are particularly high in vitamin E, promoting skin health and providing antioxidant protection.
Makhana, or fox nuts is rich in potassium, which is essential for lowering blood pressure, and calcium, vital for strong bones. Black sesame seeds are rich in nutrients that support optimal health, and regularly eating them may have specific benefits. Rich in antioxidants, black sesame seeds prevent or slow different types of cell damage in your body.
Jaggery is a traditional unrefined sugar that can be a healthier substitute for white sugar. It is rich in iron, zinc, and potassium. Notably, 100 grams of jaggery has about 11 mg of iron, which helps in preventing anaemia. It also supports digestion and detoxification by stimulating digestive enzymes.

With both roasted channa and almonds included, this laddoo serves as a solid protein source. Makhana and jaggery significantly contribute to potassium levels, which is crucial for heart health and blood pressure regulation. Adding this ladoo to your diet can support optimal nerve and muscle function, given that potassium plays a key role in these processes.
The combination of makhana, almonds, and jaggery provides ample zinc and calcium. Calcium is important for maintaining bone density, while zinc boosts immune function. Since about 43% of adults do not get enough zinc in their diet, including this laddoo can help fill that gap.
Enjoy this laddoo guilt-free as a part of your daily diet to meet the requirements of essential micronutrients.
